PSA Isabela personnel and applicants during the conduct of National ID registration at the 6th Founding Anniversary Celebration of NCSC in City of Ilagan.

ILAGAN CITY, ISABELA — In support of the 6th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC) Regional Office II, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Isabela Provincial Statistical Office (PSA-Isabela) participated in a multi-agency initiative to deliver essential services to senior citizens during a payout activity held on 22 July 2025 at the Ilagan Community Center, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

The event formed part of the second tranche of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Act, which seeks to recognize the invaluable contributions of elderly citizens by providing both financial assistance and accessible public services.

As part of the activity, PSA-Isabela, through its National ID team, offered on-site National ID services, which included six (6) new registrations, three (3) updates of demographic or biometric information, and three (3) issuances of the National ID in paper form (ePhilID). These services enabled senior citizens and their families to conveniently access identification and documentation support.

During the ceremony, three (3) centenarians were recognized and awarded Php100,000 from the national government under RA 11982, along with letters of felicitation from the Office of the President,  Php30,000 from the City Government of Ilagan, wheelchairs, and sacks of rice. Furthermore, 195 senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 received their respective Php10,000 milestone benefits under the same law.

City officials led by Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz, Vice Mayor Jay Eveson Diaz, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod were in attendance, alongside NCSC Regional Director Dulceneah Lyra F. Dela Cruz, who praised the strong partnership between government agencies and local government units (LGUs) in uplifting the welfare of senior citizens.

This joint activity was carried out in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) - Ilagan and other partner agencies, reflecting a shared commitment to making government services more inclusive and accessible—especially for the elderly, one of the most valued sectors of society.
