The  Provincial Statistical Office of Quirino actively carried out the geotagging of service facilities and government projects as part of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS). This initiative aimed to ensure the accurate mapping of essential infrastructure, which will serve as a valuable resource for government planning and policymaking.

Leading the supervision efforts were Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin, Supervising Statistical Specialist Karen T. Fernandez, focal person Senior Statistical Specialist Marison S. Lomboy, and Information Systems Analyst II Psyche R. Villanueva. They closely monitored and guided the six (6) Map Data Collectors, and two (2) Team Supervisors assigned to six (6) municipalities within the province. Their role was crucial in ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and efficiency of the geotagging process, while also addressing any operational challenges encountered in the field.

One of the most significant hurdles faced during the geotagging activity was navigating the remote and hard-to-reach barangays, which posed logistical difficulties for the teams. Unpredictable weather conditions, rough terrains, and limited accessibility to certain areas added to the complexity of the task. Despite these challenges, the MDCs and TSs remained committed to their mission, conducting actual site visits to verify, document, and geotag both newly established and existing service facilities and government projects in every barangay. Their dedication ensured that the collected data was accurate and up to date, contributing to the success of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.

The PSA-Quirino extends its appreciation to the hardworking field personnel for their perseverance and commitment to the project. The agency also acknowledges the cooperation of local government units (LGUs), community leaders, and residents, whose support played a vital role in the smooth implementation of the geotagging process. The collected data will be instrumental in improving the delivery of public services, infrastructure planning, and policy formulation for the benefit of communities across Quirino Province.

With the completion of this initiative, PSA-Quirino reaffirms its commitment to providing reliable and data-driven insights that will aid in national and local development. The agency remains steadfast in its mission to uphold statistical excellence and contribute to evidence-based governance for a more progressive and sustainable future.
