The Philippine Statistics Authority - Quirino Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted a four-day Provincial-Level Training on the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Geotagging of Service Facilities and Government Projects.The training was held at the PSA Quirino Provincial Office in San Marcos, Cabarroguis, Quirino, from February 24 to 27, 2025.

The training was facilitated by CSS Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin, SSS Karen T. Fernandez, ISA I Stanley Gener Macaspac, SrSS Maria Juvy Agbayani from RSSO II and ISA II Psyche R. Villanueva. Participants were SA Joel N. Pilar, COSW SSII Joan G. Salas, and COSW Axel Austria from PSA Quirino with two (2) Map Data Processors (MDPs), one (1) Map Data Reviewer (MDR), two (2) Team Supervisors, and six (6) Map Data Collectors.

On the first day, SSS Karen T. Fernandez delivered the opening message, emphasizing the significance of accurate geotagging in enhancing data collection and planning for local government units. She highlighted the importance of teamwork and precision in ensuring the quality of geospatial data.

On the second day, CSS Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin delivered her inspirational message to the participants and clarified key matters for the trainers. She also expressed her gratitude to the hired personnel for their dedication and continued efforts in supporting the activity.

ISA II Psyche R. Villanueva and ISA I Stanley Gener Macaspac served as lecturers, discussing the principles and methodologies of geotagging, the use of mapping tools, and field validation techniques. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises to familiarize themselves with the geotagging application and data processing procedures.

On the fourth and final day, the training focused on field validation exercises, where participants applied their knowledge by conducting actual geotagging activities in selected areas. This allowed them to experience real-world challenges and develop strategies for accurate data collection.The training concluded with a review of the field validation results, troubleshooting common issues encountered during geotagging, and final instructions for the upcoming enumeration, led by SrSS Maria Juvy S. Agbayani.

The training concluded with a closing remarks from Accountant I Archie C. Ferrer, CPA, who commended the participants for their active engagement and dedication to ensuring high-quality geospatial data for the province.

This training is part of PSA’s commitment to strengthening data collection and improving the accuracy of service facility and government project mapping, which will aid in better policymaking and resource allocation for the development of Quirino Province.
