Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya — July 30, 2025. Eager to sharpen its understanding of local realities, the Municipality of Dupax del Norte convened its key leaders at the Municipal Hall for an insightful presentation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) preliminary results.
The afternoon session brought together department heads from health, social welfare, agriculture, and other LGU offices, alongside the Municipal Statistician and the Data Protection Officer. Their shared aim was to unpack early findings that reflect everything from schooling rates to access to potable water, labor force, and among others.
Guiding the discussion was Ms. Ma. Socorro M. Betwag, Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Focal Person from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Nueva Vizcaya. The presentation highlighted snapshots of life across Dupax del Norte’s barangays, while preliminary, are already sparking ideas for targeted programs and services.
Participants remarked on how these figures go beyond cold statistics, offering windows into the everyday challenges and aspirations of their constituents. Several department heads noted the value of identifying service gaps early, so that interventions can be more timely and on point.
The gathering showed Dupax del Norte’s commitment to treating data as a living tool—one that guides conversation, fuels collaboration, and ultimately leads to policies and projects that resonate with real community needs.
