Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya — July 28, 2025. With a strong focus on understanding the real needs of its communities, the Municipality of Alfonso Castañeda took part in the presentation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) preliminary results, held at the Municipal Hall. The activity aimed to provide local officials with updated, community-specific data that can guide the direction of future programs and initiatives.
The activity was attended by the heads of various LGU departments, who collectively represent the technical and operational backbone of the municipality’s planning efforts.
The presentation was led by Ms. Ma. Socorro M. Betwag, Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Focal Person from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Nueva Vizcaya.
The preliminary data covered essential development indicators such as household demographics, labor force, education, access to basic services, and living conditions. These insights are expected to guide the LGU in identifying areas of concern and crafting targeted programs and services that directly respond to the needs of its constituents.
During the discussion, LGU officials highlighted the importance of transforming data into concrete action. With the help of the CBMS results, they aim to align their planning efforts more closely with actual community conditions, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
The presentation reaffirms the municipality’s ongoing commitment to using accurate, up-to-date data as a foundation for inclusive growth and long-term development.
