
22 May 2025 – TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN. The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), in collaboration with the Regional Statistics Committee Region 2 (RSC2) through the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), successfully conducted a three-day Complimentary Training on Interactive Dashboards: Transforming Data into Dynamic Insights using Microsoft Power BI on 19 to 21 May, aimed at strengthening the data visualization and analytics capabilities of RSC2 member agencies.
Held at the Organic Agriculture Conference Hall, Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA RFO2), San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, the training gathered participants from various regional line agencies, local government units, the academe, and the private sector, equipping them with hands-on skills in using Microsoft Power BI to create interactive and dynamic dashboards. The training emphasized transforming raw data into effective visuals to enhance data-driven decision-making across all sectors.
As the host agency, DA RFO2—represented by Dr. Roberto C. Busania, Regional Technical Director of Operations and Extension—formally welcomed the attendees and reiterated the agency’s support for initiatives that strengthen statistical capacity and digital transformation. During his welcome remarks, Dr. Busania highlighted the value of tools such as Power BI and artificial intelligence in improving data communication and utilization.
Meanwhile, Dir. Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., RSC2 Chairperson and Regional Director of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Regional Office II (DEPDev RO2), encouraged participants during his opening message to fully engage in the training to enhance their statistical skills and the delivery of public services.
The training was facilitated by experts from PSRTI, who conducted sessions on data modeling, dashboard creation, and report publishing. This initiative forms part of PSRTI’s continuing commitment to building statistical capacity and promoting data literacy among stakeholders. It also supports RSC2’s thrust to foster a culture of evidence-based governance through improved data management and utilization.
