25 July 2024 – Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Services – Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA – RSSO II), in collaboration with the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), successfully conducted a comprehensive three-day training titled Mastering Data Management: A Guide to Google Sheets and MS Excel for the Regional Statistics Committee Region 2 (RSC2) member agencies. The event took place from 23 to 25 July 2024 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – Tuguegarao Branch, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The training aimed to boost data management skills and proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets for RSC2 member agencies. It focused on enhancing participants' abilities in data analysis, reporting, and presentation, providing practical tools for effective data management.

Mr. Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., the Chairperson of RSC2 and Regional Director of the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 2 (NEDA RO2) delivered his welcoming message. He expressed his appreciation to the participants for giving importance to the invitational training. Following this, Ms. Eva Lynne M. Marcos, the Area Director of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – Tuguegarao Branch, also shared a welcoming message. She extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a positive tone for the event.

Resource Speakers from PSRTI, Mr. Eduard C. Gatus, Statistical Specialist I, and Mr. Christopher E. Mojica, Senior Statistical Specialist facilitated the training that covered a range of essential topics, including: Introduction to Data Management, Practical Data Management Techniques, Data Analysis Using Descriptive Statistics, and Data Presentation Methods.  The sessions provided almost 50 representatives from RSC2 member-agencies with hands-on experience and insights into data management.

In his closing message, Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, the Officer-in-Charge of PSA-RSSO II, emphasized the importance of the training to all RSC2 member-agencies, especially to those handling data management.

Looking ahead, RSC2 and PSRTI plan to conduct additional training sessions to further support the development of data management skills across the region.
