15 July 2024 – Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office II conducted a Regional Press Launch on the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) at SM City Tuguegarao, Bagay Road, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan last 15 July 2024.

This undertaking officially declares the commencement of the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS, as well as to further disseminate information in the region to reach a higher participation rate from the public. The said event was participated in by the Regional Census-CBMS Coordinating Board (RCCB) Member-Agencies, relevant stakeholders such as the members of the CBMS Council, and local media personalities.

A message of support from the CBMS Council; the Department of Interior and Local Government – Region 02 (DILG-RO2), and the Department of Information and Communications – Region 02 (DICT-RO2); the National Economic and Development Authority – Region 02 (NEDA-RO2); and the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Field Office 02 (DSWD-FO2) was delivered by their respective representatives during the event.

Moreover, the Local Chief Executives (LCEs) of the municipalities of Sabtang, Batanes, Allacapan, Cagayan, Santa Maria, Isabela, and San Pablo, Isabela shared their experiences in utilizing the CBMS Data and expectations for the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS in their localities.

Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of PSA-RSSO II, together with the distinguished guests, spearheaded the ceremonial launching by lighting and unveiling the official logo of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. This signifies the official start of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS operations in the region.
