28 October 2024, Tuguegarao City – Mr. Elian Mark S. Langcay, a third-year BS Mathematics student from Cagayan State University (CSU) – Carig Campus, proudly secured the First-Place title in the recently concluded Digital Poster-Making Contest. His innovative design and creativity stood out among the entries, effectively showcasing the importance of statistics and data in the society.
A total of 15 digital poster entries were received within the official entry period from October 08 to October 21, 2024. These entries were showcased on PSA Cagayan’s official Facebook page and evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges: Ms. Gene V. Baquiran, Information Officer II of the Philippine Information
Agency Region 02; Ms. Abigail C. Pineda, Information Systems Analyst I of the Cagayan Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO); and Mr. Eric Reynald G. Urata, Administrative Officer I of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Cagayan Provincial Office.
The awarding ceremony for the search for the most creative entry, which recognized the vital role of data in driving informed decisions and fostering community development, took place during the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz – Cagayan Provincial Elimination awarding of winners on October 28, 2024, at Pulsar Hotel Premier Suites, Buntun Highway, Tuguegarao City.
Top five (5) winners are the following:
• 1st Place: Elian Mark S. Langcay, Cagayan State University(CSU)-Carig Campus
• 2nd Place: Chris Kuthbert B. Agpoon, Cagayan State University(CSU)-Carig Campus
• 3rd Place: Maria Julianne Tabbu, Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines (MCNP)
• 4th Place: Irish Kim V. Palma, University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT)
• 5th Place: Althea B. Balanag, International School of Asia and the Pacific (ISAP)
The achievements of the Top 5 not only highlights the artistic talent of these students but also emphasized the importance of statistics and the digital creativity in advocating for data-driven initiatives.
Additionally, Mr. Langcay’s masterpiece garnered the most “Likes” in our Facebook page among the entries, further underscoring its impact and resonance with the audience.
