Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Ambaguio successfully held the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Preliminary Results Presentation on July 22, 2025, at the Conference Room of its new Municipal Hall.
The event was opened by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Mr. Geraldo S. Minas, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the value of community-level data in crafting meaningful programs and policies.
Also present during the activity were Municipal CBMS Focal Person, Mr. Nuepe Manuel Jr., the Municipal Statistician, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and department heads from various offices—showing strong support for data-informed local governance.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Ambaguio’s CBMS preliminary results, delivered by Ms. Ma. Socorro M. Betwag, Senior Statistical Specialist of Philippine Statistics Authority - Nueva Vizcaya. The data presented will serve as a vital reference for future planning, helping the LGU target programs more effectively and respond to the actual needs of the community.
The PSA Nueva Vizcaya team, accompanied by Mr. Ernesto de Peralta Jr, Officer-in-Charge of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division of Region II (SOCD-RSSO 02), also attended the activity to provide technical assistance and document the discussions.
To cap off the event, Mr. Manuel emphasized how the availability of CBMS data has transformed the LGU’s ability to plan effectively. In the past, accessing disaggregated data was a challenge. With the CBMS now in place, the LGU has access to comprehensive, barangay-level data that serves as a reliable foundation for planning, budgeting, and crafting targeted programs. The data is no longer just a collection of numbers but it is a powerful tool guiding the municipality’s development direction.
