The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of Quirino convened its Second Quarter Meeting on 28 May 2025 at the Audio-Visual Room, 2nd Floor, Capitol Main Building, San Marcos, Cabarroguis. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from the provincial local government unit (PLGU), local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs), government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), the academe, and other members. It was presided over by Ms. Carmelita B. Jimenez, Provincial Administrator of Quirino Province.
The PSC was established as a policymaking body on statistical matters and serves as a venue for discussing and resolving statistical issues at the provincial level.
The meeting commenced with a welcome message from Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Quirino, followed by an inspirational message from Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, delivered by his representative, Ms. Carmelita B. Jimenez, Provincial Administrator of the Provincial Government of Quirino.
CSS Agustin presented the previous meeting minutes and the agenda items. Meanwhile, Supervising Statistical Specialist Karen T. Fernandez facilitated discussions on the designation of PSC regular members from each agency. She also shared details about the Digital Literacy (Productivity Tools) program aimed at enhancing the digital skills of PSC member agencies.
Other key topics discussed included the 2025 Regional CBMS Convention and Regional Data Festival, presented by Ms. Ma. Juvy S. Agbayani, Senior Statistical Specialist of RSSO 02. Engr. Marison S. Lomboy provided updates on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA), PSA-LGU Data Sharing (PLDS) activities, and the 2025 Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS). Furthermore, SSS Fernandez covered the 2025 National Statistics Month celebration and the upcoming July 2025 Labor Force Survey and 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (Visit 1).
The meeting ended with discussions on other matters, the drafting of resolutions, announcements from various agencies, and the scheduling of the next PSC meeting.
Participants reiterated their support and dedication in strengthening rapport and cooperation among agencies to guarantee the provision of reliable statistics that aid economic and social development initiatives.
