28 March 2025 – TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN. The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) conducted its 2024 Women and Men (WAM) in Cagayan Valley Dissemination Forum on      28 March 2025 at NGN Gran Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The forum served as a platform to present and discuss gender disparities across various sectors. It aimed to strengthen evidence-based decision-making by ensuring policies and programs to address the distinct needs of both women and men in the region. By highlighting the latest gender statistics and their impact on socio-economic policies, the forum identified key areas where interventions are needed to promote equal opportunities and rights for all.

In his welcome remarks, Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Officer-in-Charge of RSSO II, emphasized that women remain one of the most vulnerable sectors of society. He highlighted the importance of gender equality and women's empowerment as essential drivers of the country’s economic and social transformation. He also underscored the vital role of statistics in shaping evidence-based policies and programs that promote gender equality, foster inclusive development, and address disparities across various sectors.

Mr. Ernesto M. De Peralta Jr., OIC-Statistical  Operations and Coordination Division and OIC-RD Bayucan led the presentations, with the eleven chapters showcasing key insights across various sectors. Experts from the Department of Health (DOH) discussed the implications for vital health and family planning, while representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) addressed social welfare and development. The Philippine National Police (PNP) provided perspectives on peace and human rights, and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) highlighted issues related to public service and professional life.

To conclude the event, Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSO Quirino,  expressed her sincere appreciation to all participants for their unwavering support and active engagement in the 2024 WAM Dissemination Forum.
