National ID Registration to IP’s at Barangay Quibal, Peñablanca, Cagayan

01 March 2025, Tuguegarao City- In a joint effort to promote inclusive identity registration, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Cagayan Provincial Statistical Office headed by Supervising Statistical Specialist, Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Cristeta M. Retoma, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Peñablanca, conducted a National ID registration for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Quibal, Peñablanca, Cagayan. A total of 32 individuals, ranging from infants to senior citizens, successfully registered, marking another milestone in the government’s commitment to providing every Filipino with a secure proof of identity.

This initiative is part of PSA’s ongoing efforts to ensure that even the most remote communities are included in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). By working closely with LGU Peñablanca, the registration team was able to reach the IP community eliminating challenges such as transportation barriers and lack of access to registration sites.

PSA Cagayan emphasized that National ID is a vital tool in improving access to government services, financial transactions, and various socio-economic benefits. With this registration drive, the agency and its local government partners reaffirm their commitment to fostering social inclusion and streamlining services for all citizens.

Local officials and community leaders in Quibal expressed their gratitude for the initiative, recognizing its impact in helping indigenous families secure identity and enhance their access to opportunities.
