
Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya – July 2, 2025 — The Municipality of Santa Fe was the first among Nueva Vizcaya’s 15 municipalities to review the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), reinforcing its commitment to data-driven governance and sustainable development.
Held at the Municipal Hall’s Conference Room in Poblacion, Santa Fe, the review session was spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Nueva Vizcaya, led by Officer-in-Charge Supervising Statistical Specialist Engr. Joel P. Basco. The activity was conducted in close collaboration with the local government unit of Santa Fe, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Liwayway C. Caramat.
The session gathered key stakeholders, including LGU department heads, the Municipal Statistician, LGU staff, the PSA-Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Team, and former Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Cholly L. Bayon.
During the presentation, Ms. Ma. Socorro M. Betwag, Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Focal Person, shared major insights from the 2024 CBMS preliminary data. Her discussion emphasized how localized data can support evidence-based planning, improve program targeting, and contribute directly to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Municipality of Santa Fe’s proactive engagement sets the tone for the upcoming CBMS data presentations across the province. In the weeks ahead, PSA-Nueva Vizcaya will continue rolling out the presentation of the 2024 CBMS Preliminary Results to the remaining municipalities, empowering local leaders to craft more responsive and inclusive development policies based on solid data.
