Cabarroguis, Quirino – March 11 – In line with the observance of Fire Prevention Month, as mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quirino Provincial Office, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Cabarroguis, successfully conducted a Fire Prevention Seminar and Earthquake Drill on March 11, 2025.


The activity aimed to equip the PSA personnel with essential fire safety knowledge and skills, particularly in understanding the basic principles of fire, determining the different classes of fire, incorporating and enhancing awareness of Exit Drills in the home (EDITH), and familiarizing themselves with the parts and proper use of first-aid firefighting devices.
 

Senior Statistical Specialist Marison S. Lomboy opened the event with a warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness in the workplace and the community.

The BFP-Cabarroguis team, led by Municipal Fire Marshal, FSINSP Arvin Bonifacio A. Lorenzo conducted informative lectures on fire safety and emergency response procedures. Joining him were Senior Fire Officer 1 Alejandro Tambaleng , Fire Officer 3 Moris Natiggi, Fire Officer 3 Chona Marie Patiwi and Fire Officer 1 Jaydee Enoyna, who provided valuable insights on fire hazards, preventive measures, and proper evacuation protocols.


After the discussions, participants engaged in a fire drill, which included a practical demonstration on the proper use of fire extinguisher and actual fire suppression. The activity equipped PSA Quirino personnel with essential skills in handling fire emergencies effectively.


The event concluded with a closing message from Accountant I Archie Ferrer, who expressed gratitude to the BFP-Cabarroguis team for their commitment to fire prevention and safety. 
 

This undertaking reaffirmed PSA Quirino's dedication to promoting a safe and disaster-ready workplace for its employees.
This is part of the annual Fire Prevention Month campaign, which aims to raise public awareness and preparedness against fire-related incidents.
