The Quirino Provincial Office of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA Quirino) launched the rollout of the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) with the rider survey – the 2024 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT) last April 2025.

The 2024 ASPBI is a national survey specifically designed to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance, and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the country’s economy for the year 2024. In this round of the 2024 ASPBI, the 2024 SICT is a rider to this survey which aims to collect and generate information on the availability, distribution and access/utilization of information and communications technology (ICT) among businesses and industries across the country.

Among the 2024 ASPBI nationwide samples of 48,500 establishments in the Philippines, 39 establishments will be covered by PSA Quirino. Meanwhile, for the 2024 SICT, the Quirino Provincial Office will cover 21 out of the 30,000 sampled establishments from 18 regions across the country. These samples will be distributed among the municipalities of the Province of Quirino.

After the successful conduct of the Second Level Training for Field Operations and Manual Processing on March 24 to 28, 2025, the distribution of questionnaires for 2024 ASPBI and 2024 SICT simultaneously started on April 21, 2025. Distribution and collection of printed questionnaires was facilitated by Mr. Archie C. Ferrer, the Focal Person, and Ms. Divine Grace U. Daquioag, a Contract of Service (COSW) Statistical Researcher and Data Processor, with the guidance and supervision of the Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Quirino, Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin.

Subsequently, the 2024 ASPBI and SICT Second Level Training on Data Processing was conducted on May 13 to 16, 2025 in preparation for the target start date of data processing for the said surveys which is on June 2, 2025.

The 2024 ASPBI survey results will be utilized in constructing national and regional income accounts, formulating and monitoring policies to achieve national and regional economic goals, assessing and comparing regional economic structures and performances, and analyzing the contribution of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the overall economy. 

The 2024 SICT, on the other hand, will be valuable in generating core ICT indicators important for measuring progress in information communication technology in the country that would help decision-makers in both public and private sector in developing policy measures and in making investment in ICT. Collection of questionnaires for both surveys from the sampled establishments will run until June 2025.
