Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya — July 18, 2025. With community development high on the agenda, the Municipality of Aritao gathered local leaders for an initial look at the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) preliminary results, presented by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Nueva Vizcaya Statistical Office.

The event was held at the Municipal Hall and attended by Mayor Remelina G. Galam, together with the department heads from various LGU offices, SB Members and Mr. Karlo Marco Ordoñez, OIC-Municipal Civil Registrar and the Data Protection Officer — all eager to dig into the latest data that paints a clearer picture of life in Aritao’s communities.

The preliminary findings were presented by Ms. Ma. Socorro M. Betwag, PSA Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Focal Person, while Engr. Joel P. Basco, Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Nueva Vizcaya, led the provincial team and responded to questions from the participants.

The data offered snapshots of the current conditions of households in Aritao. While not yet final, these early results are already helping the LGU see where things are working and where support is still needed.

Mayor Galam expressed her appreciation for the data, emphasizing that the data provides a clearer picture of the community’s current needs and realities. She pointed out the importance of using the information wisely and purposefully in local planning, ensuring that every program and intervention developed by the LGU directly responds to what the people of Aritao truly need.

SB Member Bernel A. Prado shared that the data offers a valuable starting point for crafting legislative measures and local policies that address the municipality’s challenges. He acknowledged that understanding the LGU’s current situation is key to identifying areas for improvement. With support from the executive department and the heads of offices, he emphasized the importance of working collaboratively to turn insights into action and pave a better path forward for the people of Aritao.

The activity reflects Aritao’s continuing efforts to align local action with real-life data ensuring no barangay is left behind.
