
Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya — July 16, 2025. In a move toward more evidenced-based policymaking, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bagabag welcomed the presentation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) preliminary results by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Room of the Municipal Hall. The data aims to support the municipality in crafting targeted programs and informed decisions to better address the needs of its constituents.
Present during the event was the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC), Mr. Oscar M. Nava, along with the heads of various LGU offices, the Municipal Statistician, and the Data Protection Officer, demonstrating the LGU’s commitment to evidence-based planning with data privacy and integrity in mind.
The preliminary data was presented by Ms. Socorro M. Betwag, Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Focal Person from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Nueva Vizcaya. Also in attendance were PSA Nueva Vizcaya staff, headed by Engr. Joel P. Basco, Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Nueva Vizcaya, and Mr. Ernesto M. de Peralta Jr., Officer-in-Charge of the Regional Statistical Services Office II – Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (RSSO II – SOCD), who provided key inputs and clarifications during the open forum.
In his remarks, Mr. Nava emphasized the importance of collaborative decision-making in local governance. He expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority for their steadfast support in delivering reliable and actionable data, which he described as vital in shaping programs that truly respond to the community's needs. With this, the LGU reaffirmed its commitment to evidence-based planning anchored on transparency, data integrity, and shared responsibility.
