13 January 2025 – TUGUEGARAO CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority - Cagayan Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Cagayan) conducted a press conference to present the December 2024 Inflation Report. The event occurred the PSA Cagayan Conference Hall, Juliana Square, Centro 10, Tuguegarao City.

Ms. Cristeta M. Retoma, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of PSA Cagayan, guided the discussion by presenting the province’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for December 2024. The presentation highlighted the overall inflation rate with 5.7% from 4.5% recorded in November 2024 and emphasized particular commodity groups that played a significant role in driving the province’s inflation outcomes.

An Open Forum ensued after the presentation of OIC Retoma. Engr. Ronald Tuddao, Trade Industry Development Specialist of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Dr. Ferdinand Cortez, Public Relations Officer II of Department of Agriculture Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (DA RAFIS), and Mr. Rogelio Matalang, Broadcast Program Producer III of National Irrigation Administration Regional Office 02 (NIA RO2) actively participated in this portion which further validated the province’s inflation report.

This conference was a key component of the PSA Cagayan’s continuous effort to deliver timely and precise statistical data, fostering transparency and supporting data-informed decision-making across different sectors.
