20 June 2025 - TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN. To strengthen public awareness of the agency’s core programs and services, the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA RSSO II) conducted an information drive at the Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office II (BFP RO2) on 20 June 2025. The activity aimed to inform and engage participants in the effective use of official statistics, the National ID and its authentication services, and to enhance their understanding of the key processes involved in civil registration services.
Ms. Jovy Ann B. Moraña, Registration Officer II of the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Cagayan, provided an overview of the National Identification, emphasizing its key features and benefits in streamlining government services and enhancing identity verification processes.
Meanwhile, Ms. Karen Cunanan, Registration Officer I, discussed the essential concepts and procedures related to civil registration. She highlighted the significance of timely and accurate registration of vital events such as births, marriages, and deaths. Ms. Cunanan also reviewed key legislation governing civil registration, including Republic Act No. 9048, Republic Act No. 10172, Presidential Decree No. 603, and Republic Act No. 9255.
Furthermore, Ms. Myrna Jane N. Oli, Statistical Specialist II, presented PSA's statistical services, such as the PSA Data Archive (PSADA), OpenStat, and Data Enclave. These data sources are invaluable for researchers, policymakers, and the public in accessing reliable statistical information.
The session concluded with an open forum where participants actively engaged in discussions and raised queries about the agency's initiatives and services.
