28 March 2025 – In a collective effort to combat waste pollution and promote environmental stewardship, employees of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Cagayan Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Cagayan) came together for a successful coastal cleanup drive along the picturesque shoreline of Sitio Pananacpan, Barangay Patunungan, Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

The cleanup initiative aimed to address the growing issue of waste accumulation in the region and engage the local community in sustainable environmental practices. During the event, participants collected five large bags of waste, including plastic debris, liquor bottles, and plastic wrappers, which had littered the beach. These materials posed a serious threat to the local ecosystem, marine life, and the overall health of the environment.

Through their hard work and dedication, the PSA Cagayan team not only helped restore the beauty of the area but also raised vital awareness about the importance of waste reduction, recycling, and protecting the coastal environment.

The coastal cleanup is part of PSA Cagayan's broader commitment to environmental conservation, with plans to continue organizing similar events to encourage active participation from the community in preserving Cagayan's natural resources.

PSA Cagayan remains dedicated to inspiring environmental awareness and positive change, fostering a shared responsibility for the sustainability of Cagayan’s coastal regions.
