The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of Quirino convened for its First Quarter Meeting at the PSA Quirino Conference Room, Cabarroguis on 18 February 2025 bringing together key stakeholders from the provincial local government unit, LGUs, national government agencies, GOCCs , academe and other members. The meeting was presided by the Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Quirino, Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin.


The PSC was established to serve as policymaking body on statistical matters and provide an avenue for the discussion and resolution of statistical issues at the provincial level.


The meeting commenced with a welcome message from Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin followed by an inspirational message from Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua duly represented by Engr. Jomel A. Sugue, Development Management Officer IV of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO).


Supervising Statistical Specialist, Karen T. Fernandez facilitated discussions on the designation of regular members for each agency. She also shared details on the planned training program in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to enhance digital skills of the PSC regular members.


Other key topics tackled were updates on Civil Registration, Provincial Product Accounts (PPA), PSA-LGU Data Sharing (PLDS) Project and the National ID System. 


The meeting concluded with a discussion on other matters including announcements from different agencies and the scheduling of the next PSC meeting.


Participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration to ensure the availability of reliable statistics that support economic and social development initiatives.


The PSC remains steadfast in its mission to uphold data integrity and accessibility, ensuring that government planning and policymaking are backed by credible statistics.
