Local Civil Registrars of Cagayan Valley Region posted for a photo opportunity after the successful conduct of Digital National ID Orientation.

 

TUGUEGARAO CITY, June 8, 2024 – The Philippine Statistics Authority, Regional Statistical Services Office 02 (PSA RSSO 02), conducted an orientation via Google Meet on June 8, 2024, focusing on the Digital National ID and National ID Authentication Services for Local Civil Registrars (LCRs) across the Cagayan Valley Region.

The of the orientation focused on familiarizing the Local Civil Registrars with the newly launched Digital National ID and its application in both government and private transactions. The session highlighted the benefits the digital national ID, emphasizing enhanced security, convenience, and seamless integration with various services.

Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Officer-in-charge of PSA RSSO II, welcomed attendees and emphasized the significance of introducing the Digital National ID to enhance identification processes in various agencies. “This will be the first in the series of seminars that we will be conducting to various agencies,” Bayucan shared.

Ms. Rianne Aybil Penaredondo, Project Development Officer II from PSA's PhilSys Advocacy Unit, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Digital National ID and demonstrated how to access and utilize the ID through national-id.gov.ph and everify.gov.ph/check.

Meanwhile, Mr. Christian Comandante, Project Development Officer II from the PhilSys Advocacy Unit, discussed the critical role of National ID authentication services in verifying individual identities through advanced methods such as biometric verification.

Following the presentations, Local Civil Registrars had the opportunity to validate their queries and concerns, ensuring a clear understanding of the Digital National ID's implementation.

Atty. Syra Miguel Miranda, City Civil Registrar of Ilagan, praised the PSA and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for their significant innovation in the National ID check. She noted, "Previously, the civil registrar's office was afraid to accept the National ID because we could not verify its authenticity. With the introduction of this platform, we can now ascertain whether they presented a fake National ID or not."

Engr. Rose Q. Pacay, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of PSA RSSO II, expressed appreciation to the participants for their active participation in the orientation. She encouraged attendees to utilize the Digital National ID and leverage PSA's authentication services to enhance efficiency in their operations.

The orientation on the Digital National ID concluded successfully, marking a significant step towards strengthening identification security and efficiency in the Local Civil Registrars of Cagayan Valley Region.
