15 January 2024 - TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN. The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) conducted the Cagayan Valley Press Conference on the January 2024 Inflation on 11 January 2024 at PSA-RSSO II Conference Hall, RGC, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City and was broadcasted live on the agency’s official Facebook page, PSA Cagayan Valley – Region 02. 

The press conference was attended by various Regional Line Agencies (RLAs): Department of Trade and Industry Region 02 (DTI R02), Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 02 (DA-RFO2), National Economic and Development Authority Region 02 (NEDA RO2), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Tuguegarao Branch, and the Department of Labor and Employment Region 02 (DOLE R02). Media personalities from Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and Radyo Pilipinas Tuguegarao were also present. 

Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of PSA-RSSO II presented the inflation report for the region which included the headline inflation rate across all income commodity groups, highlighting the commodity groups that contributed to the deceleration of inflation.

The resource persons who provided valuable insights during the open forum were Ms. Ma. Rosario U. Paccarangan, Chief of the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance of DA-RFO2; Atty. Cyrus I. Restauro, Chief, Consumer Protection Division of DTI R02; Ms. Elaine Joy T.
