17 January 2023, TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN - The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA RSSO II) - Philippine Identification System Registry Unit has laid out its ambitious plans for the year 2024, after assessing and evaluating the accomplishments of provincial offices regarding their PhilSys operations. The quarterly assessment and planning meeting held at DISADECO Resorts, Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya, hosted by PSA Nueva Vizcaya.
Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Officer-in-charge of PSA RSSO II, shared that as of December 31, 2023, PhilSys has successfully registered a total of 83 million individuals. Looking ahead, the agency has set a target to register an additional 9 million Filipinos by the end of June 2024, bringing the total to 92 million registered individuals being its original target since the start of registration in 2021.
With a specific workload target of 219,450 for the Cagayan Valley Region by the end of June 2024, Engr. Bayucan emphasized the importance of strategic initiatives to achieve this goal. He outlined various strategies for Provincial Statistics Offices (PSOs) to consider, including registration in Daycare Centers, co-location in Barangay Health Centers during the Immunization Campaign for Children below 5 years old, and the execution of partnership agreements with the Department of Health (DOH) for the establishment of co-location sites in birthing clinics and public hospitals.
The meeting also featured presentations from Chief Statistical Specialists (CSS’s) and Focal Persons (FPs) who shared their accomplishments for the first 10 days of 2024 and proposed strategies to enhance the registration output.
Engr. Cholly L. Bayon, CSS of PSO Nueva Vizcaya, expressed gratitude for hosting the productive meeting and reiterated the commitment of PSA Nueva Vizcaya to contribute to the successful implementation of PhilSys in the region.
“As PSA RSSO II gears up for an intensive period of PhilSys registrations in 2024, the entire organization is dedicated to achieving its targets and making a significant impact on the lives of millions of Filipinos,” Engr. Bayucan shared.
