29 March 2025 – Sta. Ana, Cagayan. In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Cagayan Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Cagayan) organized a heartwarming gift-giving event for the Aeta community, reaffirming its dedication to inclusivity and social responsibility.

On 29 March 2025, PSA Cagayan personnel visited the Aeta community in Sitio Pananacpan, Barangay Patunungan, Sta. Ana, Cagayan, to distribute essential goods and food supplies. This outreach effort aimed to honor and empower indigenous women, highlighting their invaluable contributions to their families and society.

"As we celebrate National Women’s Month, it is important to remember the vital role that women, especially those in marginalized communities, play in shaping our society. Through this initiative, we aim to uplift the Aeta community, especially women and children, by providing essential goods and showing our support for their well-being. This effort is a small but meaningful step towards fostering inclusivity and equality for all." said Officer-in-Charge Cristeta M. Retoma

PSA Cagayan distributed 30 gift bags, as well as used clothing, toys, shoes, and snacks, to the indigenous Aeta community, bringing joy and hope to local children and families. This initiative sought to provide much-needed items to the Aeta community, with a particular focus on women and children, who often face significant challenges in accessing basic resources. The thoughtfully packed gift bags were filled with various items designed to uplift the spirits of the recipients, while the donated clothing, toys, and shoes had a meaningful impact on their daily lives. Special attention was also given to the children, with snacks shared to bring a moment of joy to their day.

As part of its ongoing Gender and Development program, PSA Cagayan remains committed to supporting women and children, especially in underserved areas, as a crucial step toward promoting social equality. The Aeta people have long been an integral part of the nation’s cultural fabric, and this initiative marks just one step toward a brighter future for these communities.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the organizers, volunteers, and generous donors whose contributions made these acts of kindness a reality.
