National ID Registration Team conducting mobile registrations in barangays and offices.

BASCO, BATANES. PSA Batanes’ National ID (NID) mobile registration activities continue as the NID Registration Team revisits barangays and offices to register individuals to the Philippine Identification System. With the mobile registration effort, the National ID services are made accessible to everyone, especially those who are unable to visit the National ID fixed registration center.

The National ID services, which include the registration of individuals of all ages, issuance of NID in paper form, updating of the demographic information, and request for replacement of peeled-off NID cards, were delivered to the different municipalities in the province through mobile activities. These efforts are necessary to the objective of the Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act to provide an inclusive, secure, and sustainable national identification system for all citizens.

As of 31 December 2024, Batanes registered a total number of 18,045 individuals to the National ID System, this equates to 98.68 percent accomplishment based on the 2023 projected population of the province and issued a total number of 13,861 NID in paper form.  The success of the National ID registration in the province, which started on 30 May 2021, served as a testament to the commitment of the Philippine Statistics Authority to make every individual receive the benefits of being a National ID registered. PSA Batanes requests the continued support of the people, the local government units, and other public and private partners in implementing the National ID system.
