The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Quirino Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted the 3rd Preliminary Data Review for the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in Nagtipunan on July 15, 2025, at PAG-ASA Hall, LGU Building, Nagtipunan.
The review presented and validated the initial CBMS results to ensure data quality for local development planning. It was led by CSS Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin and Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Marison S. Lomboy, with support from SSS Karen T. Fernandez, COSW Statistical Specialist II Joan G. Salas, and Information Systems Analyst II Psyche R. Villanueva.
Mayor Noel T. Lim expressed his gratitude to PSA Quirino for supporting the successful implementation of the 2024 CBMS. He emphasized the importance of CBMS data in guiding local planning and noted that the preliminary review provided valuable insights into the current situation of the Nagtipuneros.
CSS Engr. Agustin highlighted that CBMS is a vital tool for evidence-based planning, helping LGUs identify household needs and allocate resources effectively. She emphasized that CBMS provides accurate and up-to-date data at the grassroots level, particularly down to the barangay level, which serves as a basis for planning and addressing poverty in support for economic development.
The PSA commended the LGU of Nagtipunan, especially the MPDO under EnP. Rogelio D. Abalus Jr., for their strong support and active role in ensuring the smooth implementation of CBMS activities.
A total of 30 participants from national and local government offices in Nagtipunan attended the event, demonstrating strong inter-agency collaboration and a shared commitment to evidence-based local governance.
PSA Quirino expressed sincere appreciation to LGU Nagtipunan and partner institutions for their continued support. The successful preliminary data review marked a key step in using community-level statistics for planning and policy-making. Similar activities are set to follow in other Quirino municipalities to ensure all LGUs have accurate, updated CBMS data for informed development efforts.
