28 October 2024 – CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA. In a display of academic excellence and statistical prowess, the Isabela State University (ISU) – Cauayan Campus emerged victorious at the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Eliminations – Isabela spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Isabela on 28 October 2024 (Monday), at Piazza Zicarelli Hotel, Restaurant and Bakeshop, Upi, Gamu, Isabela.
The 28th PSQ Provincial Eliminations is one of the highlights of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration in Cagayan Valley region, which was simultaneously conducted by the Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs), in coordination with the PSQ Regional Steering Committee 02, in order to identify regional contestants who will compete for the regional championship on 08 November 2024 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The activity was participated in by 15 students from various universities and institutions in the province. After a three (3) – round competition, the provincial winners were identified, to wit:
Provincial Champion: Ms. Noverly R. Agub (ISU – Cauayan Campus)
1st Runner-Up: Mr. Jose Fernando G. Gonzales (ISU – Echague Campus)
2nd Runner-Up: Ms. Elizabeth M. Ramiro (ISU – San Mateo Campus)
3rd Runner-Up: Ms. Michaela C. Ancheta NELAC
Ms. Febvoah R. Joaquin (ISU – Echague Campus)
Mr. Charles M. Somera PNU - NL
The winners received a certificate of recognition, and a cash prize, while a certificate of participation were given to the other contestants.
The PSQ is a nationwide annual contest designed to test the knowledge in statistics of freshman students enrolled in colleges and universities in all17 regions of the country. It is organized by the PSA and the Philippine Statistical Association Inc. (PSAI).
