04 February 2025 - The Philippine Statistics Authority Quirino Provincial Office successfully launched the 35th Civil Registration Month with a grand motorcade and an opening ceremony. The motorcade was led by the Philippine National Police and participated in by various partner agencies, including National Government Agencies (NGAs), the Provincial Local Government, media and the six (6) LGUs represented by the Local Civil Registry Offices headed by the active and supportive Municipal Civil Registrars in the province.

 

The opening program which was hosted by LGU Nagtipunan through their active MCR Melanie B. Tabunan commenced immediately after the motorcade. Municipal Mayor Noel T. Lim, represented by Municipal Administrator Engr. Jedda Lisseth Santos, warmly welcomed the attendees. She expressed her gratitude to the PSA for its unwavering support in delivering social services through continued partnership with the LGU. She emphasized the importance of PSA's active participation in community-centered initiatives like the "Kapehan sa Barangay," ensuring accessible services to Nagtipunan residents.


Engr. Cherry Grace D. Agustin, Chief Statistical Specialist, delivered an inspirational message, extending her heartfelt gratitude to all partner agencies for their continued support. CSS Agustin highlighted the importance of the annual celebration of Civil Registration Month every February.

 

She underscored the need to enhance the Civil Registry System to provide the Filipino people with the best services they deserve, particularly in the digital era. "A robust Civil Registration is essential to adapt to the ever-changing environment." CSS Agustin said. CSS Agustin also emphasized the importance of civil registry documents. She said “Your birth certificate plays a big part and will define your future someday”.


The program featured an information dissemination on the National ID System through Information Officer I Sunshine D. Bumakel. She discussed key topics, including salient features of the National ID, the Rehistro Bulilit program requirements, updating demographic information, National ID check and orientation on how to generate the digital version of the National ID.

 

Moreover, Registration Officer II Lace Christelle D. Ladia had an informative session regarding Civil Registry System and Vital Statistics, ensuring the audience was well-informed about recent developments and the significance of maintaining accurate records. She captivated the audience with an engaging presentation of trivia on birth, marriage, and death.

 

The program concluded with a closing remarks from Benida D. Factor, Municipal Civil Registrar of Aglipay and President of the Provincial Association of Civil Registrars (PACR)-Quirino Chapter. She urged everyone to actively support the month-long celebration of Civil Registration Month, emphasizing its significance in providing quality services to the people.

 

This year’s theme is “Building a Resilient , Agile and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System.
In line with this ,PSA Quirino Provincial Office have prepared a series of activities designed to raise awareness about civil registration and highlight the vital role it plays. Key activities planned for the celebration include:
•    Hanging of Streamers - Municipal halls across the six municipalities in the province will
display streamers to mark the occasion and promote awareness of CRM.
•    Digital Poster Making Contest
•    CRVS Quiz Bee -Provincial Elimination 
•    CRVS Vlog Competition
•    Information Education Campaign and School-Based Mobile Registration 
•    Culminating Activity
