14 October 2024 – CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA. Still in celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Isabela extended a helping hand to 20 street children through an outreach program activity on 14 October 2024 (Monday) at Lingap Center for Street Children, Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Isabela.
The activity intended to bring hope and smile to the children by distributing school supplies, and conduct feeding program to ensure that the children have the necessary resources in their studies and maintain personal health.
Mr. Julius M. Emperador, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA – Isabela, acknowledged that accurate data is crucial in addressing the challenges faced by the society, especially the vulnerable sectors like the street children. “This event for the 35th NSM is not only about a simple giving back, but also about emphasizing the importance of statistics in crafting effective policies and programs for the youth,” he added.
Ms. Maria Lorena R. Batoon, RSW, Officer-in-Charge and Social Worker III of the Lingap Center, together with other personnel and the children, gladly welcomed PSA – Isabela personnel and extended their utmost gratitude for sharing time and resources. She highlighted that even with the simple visit and assistance rendered to the children were already an unforgettable experience to them as they pursue their journey towards realizing their dreams. “We thank you for being part of their lives, touching and giving them a memorable experience they will always cherish,” she shared.
Lingap Center for Street Children is a residential facility owned and managed by the Provincial Government of Isabela (PGI). It is continuously reaching out children who are neglected, abandoned, maltreated, victims of child labor and street children.
