18 January 2025, Tuguegarao City – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Cagayan headed by Officer-In-Charge, Ms. Cristeta M. Retoma conducted a comprehensive refresher training for its National ID Personnel to reinforce the implementation of Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System Act. The training aimed to ensure that all guidelines, policies, and operational procedures are thoroughly disseminated to the team, thereby enhancing efficiency and accuracy in service delivery.
Key topics covered during the training including Registration of Minors Below 5 Years Old: Special emphasis was placed on the registration process for infants and newly born babies, ensuring that even the youngest members of the community are included in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
The training also highlighted the functionality and acceptance of the three official National ID formats: the National ID Card, the National ID in paper form, and the Digital National ID. These formats are all recognized as valid proof of identity for transactions with government agencies and private institutions.
The operation of National ID Personnel will commence on 20 January 2025, ensuring that all unregistered residents of Cagayan will be enrolled in National ID Registration.
PSA Cagayan remains committed in bringing the benefits of PhilSys closer to the community, promoting inclusivity and ease of access to essential services for all citizens.
