10 September 2024 – CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Isabela reported the August 2024 inflation of the province through a Press Conference on 10 September 2024, Tuesday, at Piazza Zicarelli Hotel, Restaurant, and Bakeshop, Upi, Gamu, Isabela. The presscon was also livestreamed on its official Facebook page, PSA Isabela.


Mr. Julius M. Emperador, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA – Isabela, provided a detailed report on Isabela’s headline inflation, its trends, main sources of inflation, and inflation rates by major commodity group and food groups.

 

The Presscon was participated by media personalities from various media agencies such as Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – Isabela, 98.5 IFM Cauayan, and 92.9 Brigada News FM. In addition, Mr. Elmer Agonto from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Isabela, and Mr. Renz Vincent Ofuada from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) – Isabela, actively shared important insights about the current inflation trends and ongoing interventions to address the economic challenges that were highlighted in the reports.

 

Inflation rate refers to the annual rate of change or the year-on-year change of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) expressed in percentage. The CPI is a measure of change in the average retail prices of a fixed basket of commodities or goods and services commonly purchased by the households relative to a base year or base period.
