07 October 2024 – CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA. In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 647, "Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month," the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Isabela marked the commencement of its provincewide month-long celebration with the 35th NSM Opening Ceremony on 07 October 2024 (Monday), Amphitheatre, Provincial Capitol, Alibagu,  City of Ilagan, Isabela.

 

In its 35th year, the celebration underscored the significant role of technology in advancing the statistical system and the quality of statistics through the adoption of digital tools and platforms optimizing government services to improve the accuracy, timeliness and accessibility of statistics with the theme – “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”

 

A motorcade activity was organized as a prelude activity to the Opening Program which was held at the Amphitheater, Provincial Capitol.

 

Mr. Julius M. Emperador, Isabela Provincial Statistics Committee (IPSC) Vice-Chairperson and Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA-Isabela, warmly welcomed all the participants and expressed his sincrest gratitude for participating and supporting NSM celebration as well as other PSA undertakings. In addition, he hoped that the stakeholders – Provincial Line Agencies (PLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and private sectors – will continue supporting all these activities for better awareness, appreciation, and utilization of data and statistics.

 

In his message, Atty. Eduardo R. Cabantac, EnP, IPSC Chairperson and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of Isabela, shared the transformation of accessing data from non-digital to digital, which was a good indicator to keep abreast with the other countries. He also stated that these rapid movement of digitalization positively influenced the citizens to be vigilant with the data and information posted.      

 

Engr. Bryan H. Tomas, Information Statistical Analyst (ISA) I of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Isabela, served as the resource speaker, and oriented the participants with the eGov PH Super App – also known as the e-Government Philippines, which is a mobile application that simplifies transactions between the government and citizens.

 

In addition, Ms. Romuallina B. Tumolva ISA I of PSA – Isabela, shared the various formats of National ID, such as the (1) National ID Card, (2) National ID Paper, and     (3) Digital National ID. She also demonstrated how to get the Digital National ID and validate the transmitted ID thru the National ID eVerify.

 

Participants to the activity were member-representatives of the IPSC, and LGUs from the  Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), and Municipal Civil Registrar’s Office (MCR).
