27 April 2023, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. - The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) held a press conference on 27 April 2023 at the Pulsar Premier Suites, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan to present the 2022 Report on the Economic Performance of Region II - Cagayan Valley. The event was attended by participants from different media partners, regional line agencies (RLAs), and PSA officials and employees from across the region.

 

The report, presented by Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Chief Statistical Specialist and Office-in-Charge (OIC) of PSA RSSO II, provided a comprehensive overview of the economic performance of the region for the year 2022. At exactly 10:00 AM, OIC Bayucan announced that the region's growth rate in 2022 was 8.0%, stating, "Across all 16 industries, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing accounted the biggest share with 27.8 percent of the region's total economy." The report included data on the region's GDP and major economic indicators. OIC Bayucan emphasized the critical role of the economic report as an essential resource for stakeholders and policymakers, providing valuable data that informs strategic decision-making, and supports effective policy implementation.

 

As part of the program, an open forum was held, providing participants from various media outlets, including several RLAs, with an opportunity to ask questions and provide additional insights into the economic performance of the region.

 

The press conference ended on a high note, with attendees engaging in lively discussions over lunch. As the event drew to a close, attendees gathered for a group photo, capturing the spirit of collaboration and shared commitment to building a brighter future for Cagayan Valley.
