24 April 2023, Santa Maria, Isabela. – The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statisticl Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) officially turned over the 2021 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Data to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Maria, Isabela last 24 April 2023 at the Session Hall, Santa Maria, Isabela.
Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) and Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of PSA-RSSO II, presented the 2021 Pilot CBMS Data of Santa Maria which included data on disaster, health, education, labor and employment. Moreover, Engr. Bayucan said that aside from the data he presented, there are still more which can be generated from the CBMS results that can be of great help for the program formulation and planning of the LGU.
Hon. Hilario G. Pagauitan, Municipal Mayor of Santa Maria, cited some of his plans in the utilization of the CBMS Data. Now that the CBMS data is officially turned over in the LGU, Mayor Pagauitan said that they will use these as baseline data for the development of programs and projects that will alleviate the lives of his constituents. He also extended his appreciation to PSA for including the LGU as a pilot area for the implementation of CBMS.
Engr. Jaylord M. Cauan, OIC - Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (OIC-MPDC), presented the plans and programs that will utilize the CBMS Data. He gave an emphasis on the relevance of the CBMS Data in crafting their various plans like the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).
Atty. Eliezer P. Ambatali, Director of the Legal Service of PSA-Central Office, gave a brief discussion on Data Security as provided in the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). He emphasized that with the data in their hands comes a great responsibility to protect it.
Mr. Julius M. Emperador, CSS of the Provincial Statistical Office of Isabela, concluded the ceremony with much gratitude to the LGU of Santa Maria for its full support, dedication and hard work towards the endeavors of PSA-RSSO II.
