29 August 2023 - Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) conducted the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF) Stakeholders’ Forum on 29 August 2023 at Crown Hotel and Restaurant, Tuguegarao City.
The forum was conducted to present the objectives and overview of the 2022 CAF, to engage with key stakeholders, and gather insights and inputs for the successful implementation of the upcoming census. The activity also served as a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and fostering strong partnerships to ensure an effective data collection. Primarily, the forum was initiated to drumbeat the region’s campaign to gain more support and solicit maximum participation in the conduct of 2022 CAF.
There were sixty-five (65) attendees coming from Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Veterinary Office, City / Municipal Agriculture Office from different provinces / cities / municipalities in the region, Regional Line Agencies, academe, and PSA Regional and Provincial Offices.
In his message, Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, OIC-Regional Director of PSA-RSSO II, emphasized the pivotal role of stakeholders and their support to the upcoming census and requested each and every participant to disseminate the information with regards to the conduct of the 2022 CAF. “Together, we can continue to make a significant impact on our region’s development and contribute to the overall progress of our nation. Let us strive to further strengthen our collaboration and work towards achieving a greater milestone in the future”, Engr. Bayucan added.
During the forum proper, Supervising Statistical Specialist Mary Jane C. Cabauatan presented facts and selected figures on agriculture and fisheries. The overview of the 2022 CAF was discussed by Engr. Bayucan, particularly on its objectives, methodology, uses, target respondents, reference period, data to be collected, coordination and timetable. To update the participants, OIC-Chief of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) Ernesto M. De Peralta Jr. delved on the status of the preparation for the conduct of the census.
An open forum ensued after the presentations which was facilitated by Ms. Cristeta M Retoma, Supervising Statistical Specialist of PSA Cagayan.
