The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Regional Statistical Services Office II is almost done with the 2020 Census of Population and Housing enumeration at 97.46 percent census returns as of date. The data collected are subjected further for manual processing and machine processing for consistency checking and evaluation.
At least 225 hired Manual Processors composed of map processors, screeners, editors, coders and verifiers and 107 Machine Processors hired as shift supervisors, receipt and control clerks and encoders to do the processing. Data Processing Centers are then set up by the Provincial Statistical Offices for the 5-month manual and machine processing beginning October 24, 2020 to March 6, 2021.
Prior to the processing, series of trainings were conducted such as the Manual and Machine Processing Task Force training on October 12-17, 2020 which was attended by participants in the North Luzon Cluster composing of NCR, CAR and Regions 1 to 3. The RSSO II 2020 CPH Team including the provinces joined the training with 20 participants.
As scheduled, the second level training on Manual Processing was conducted in the four provinces except Batanes whose mode of interview was through Computer Assisted Personal Interview. To augment the need for the provinces for resource persons, two staff from the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division served as lecturers during the Second Level Training in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya.
The manual processing is at present on its first week.
