27 June 2022, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. – The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistics Services Office II (PSA-RSSO II) conducted the 8-day onsite 2022 CBMS National Rollout Regional Level Training on 17 June to 18 June 2022 and 20 June to 25 June 2022 at Crown Hotel and Restaurant, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The training was attended by participants from the five Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) spearheaded by their respective Chief Statistical Specialists (CSS) and representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The training focused on data collection using the Household Profile Questionnaire (HPQ) that will be collected via Pen and Paper Personal Interview (PAPI) and/or Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI), the role of the Regional and Provincial CBMS Core teams, as well as the Enumerators and Supervisors, and the various applications that will be used.
Engr. Girme M. Bayucan, CSS and Officer-in-Charge of the Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division (CRASD) formally opened the program, emphasizing the importance of the training and the role of PSA and partner agencies in the success of the 2022 CBMS Project.
During the discussion proper, the participants actively participated and raised their questions and suggestions. The trainers: Ernesto M. de Peralta, Jr., Supervising Statistical Specialist (SSS) and Officer-in-Charge of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD); Ma. Juvy S. Agbayani, Statistical Specialist II (SS II); and Shiela Joy C. Puruel, SS II (COSW) answered questions and addressed participants’ concerns.
A hands-on training session and mock interview were also conducted to demonstrate how the applications and websites work and to provide participants with a better understanding and appreciation on the process and the tools they will be using.
The training ended on a positive note with the CSS of PSO Cagayan, Engr. Elena U. Rivera, delivering her closing remarks, acknowledging the efforts of the trainers and the active participation of the participants and emphasizing that this training is just a step to the beginning of the 2022 CBMS Project.
