Over 5000 hired enumerators and Census Area Supervisors started visiting every household yesterday, September 1, 2020 for the collection of population and housing characteristics including demographic, socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of every households here in Region 2. Aside from households and housing units, the census will also enumerate Institutional Living Quarters (ILQ) and barangay characteristics in Cagayan Valley.
According to PSA RSSO II CPH team the first day of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing ran smoothly except for some areas under lockdown due to increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
The Census Team reassured the public that their field personnel are properly equipped with personal protective gears and sanitation kits to make sure that they will not be infected of any viruses. Likewise, to always observe physical and social distancing to avoid infecting on respondents.
Regional Director Marilyn T. Estrada encouraged every constituent in Cagayan Valley Region to willingly support and participate in the said census as the information gathered will be the basis of our policymakers to craft plans, programs and projects for the nation, especially this time that we are faced with difficult and unique situations.
In addition the director assured that the data gathered in the 2020 CPH shall be held with utmost confidentiality. Moreover, on the part of respondents, they are obliged to give truthful and complete answers to statistical inquiries as stated in Paragraph 1 of Section 27 of RA 10625.
The Census of Population and Housing will last until September 30, 2020.
